Juja, Kenya – MLIFE Foundation broke ground on Monday to construct the MLIFE Center, a cutting-edge Transitional Age Youth Hub, in Juja, Kenya.
The first of its kind campus in East and Central Africa, the MLIFE Center will have an open auditorium with a proscenium stage, an art and music studio, a game room, and a clubhouse/ youth lounge with a Technology Academic Space. The MLIFE Center will also have accommodation facilities to permit MLIFE partners visiting Kenya to extend their programming for additional days or months and vastly increase cultural programming beyond the 10-day visits.
The facility will serve as the new headquarters of the MLIFE Foundation in Kenya.
The MLIFE Center will amplify the MLIFE Foundation's work of connecting youths in Kenya and those in San Francisco, California. "The future is global, and we hope what we provide here at MLIFE Center will expand opportunities for ethnically and economically diverse youths in San Francisco and Nairobi, Kenya to connect, network and learn from each other." Mwangi said at the groundbreaking event.
It will also have an integrated mental health center with a confidential counseling space, a commercial kitchen, and a cafe with a rooftop deck.
MLIFE Foundation will launch its capital campaign for the new campus this November 2022 in Sunnyvale, California.
