Connecting Past and Present: California Youth Set to Explore Culture on MLIFE's 2024 Kenya Heritage Tour this July

UPDATE - Due to the ongoing political unrest in Kenya, MLIFE's Healing Circle is suspending our 2024 MLIFE Heritage Tour, scheduled from July 26 through August 5, 2024. The revised dates aim to ensure a safe and enriching experience, allowing us to continue fostering cultural understanding among San Francisco Bay Area youth.

MLIFE Foundation's Healing Circle Program proudly presents our second Kenya Heritage Tour, a unique opportunity for California youth to reconnect with their roots. The tour will guide participants through Nairobi's vibrant streets, the Maasai Mara's breathtaking beauty, and Kilifi's captivating history. 

This 10-day intercultural journey, scheduled from July 26 to August 5, 2024, is not just a tour. It's a transformative experience, a journey of self-discovery and cultural exploration. It's a chance to reshape perceptions, bridge cultural gaps, and celebrate Africa's diverse heritage. MLIFE's president, Mwangi Mukami, envisions this journey as a beacon of hope for California's Black youth, offering them a transformative experience that will leave a lasting impact.

Twenty-five youth aged 14-24 from a pool of 150 will participate in the summer program. They will engage with U.S. / Kenya government representatives, visit Maasai Mara, the seventh wonder of the new world, and learn the mysteries of the Gedi ruins. In Nakuru, the youth will participate in the Human 2024 conference, where activists and truth-tellers, spiritualists, and emerging entrepreneurs converge to bridge the disadvantage gap, develop and equip next-generation leaders, and gather historically excluded groups in an inclusive space of spirituality.

MLIFE is actively seeking to raise $100,000 to ensure the success of this transformative endeavor. With the generous support of the California community, we can provide these young minds with a life-changing experience, enriching their understanding of culture, fostering global connections, and shaping them into future leaders. Already, MLIFE has raised $19,000, $15,000 donated by the Rugged Elegance Foundation, and $4,000 by Collective Impact.
