A Decade of Dreams: Join Us in Honoring Mwangi Mukami at the 7th MLIFE Gala

We're counting down the days to a night sparkling with purpose. We'll celebrate your support of our mission at our 7th MLIFE Gala this November 2nd from 4-7 p.m. at 1187 Franklin Street in San Francisco.

This year's gala will also pay tribute to Mwangi Mukami, the founder of the MLIFE Foundation, on his 40th birthday. Born into the gritty tapestry of Nairobi’s slums, Mwangi navigated a challenging childhood. Raised by a single mother struggling to provide for nine children, he experienced firsthand the harsh realities of poverty. The daily battle for survival often overshadowed the pursuit of education for many, including Mwangi.

Yet, amidst the adversity, a flicker of hope ignited within him. Witnessing his mother’s unwavering resilience, Mwangi recognized education's profound and transformative power. This realization became the cornerstone of the MLIFE Foundation—a haven designed to uplift young minds and break the cycle of poverty.

Mwangi founded MLIFE in 2015 to cultivate changemakers through a strategic and innovative combination of technology, education, and the arts. The organization offers programs tailored to different age groups. For children aged 14-17, the focus is on developing critical thinking, creativity, and confidence through literacy. Those between 18 and 35 are mentored to become influential community leaders with the skills to drive positive change.

More than just an organization, MLIFE embodies the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Mwangi’s journey, marked by adversity and triumph, is reflected in the foundation’s mission to bridge the gap between despair and empowerment.
